Bowling From the Icelandic Perspective

Two friends from Iceland leave on Saturday and several of us went out to lunch. In total, there were three Icelanders, a German, an Aussie and me. We got on the subject of bowling and the Icelanders all made a face clearing showing their disdain for the "sport".

"We don't have this sport," volunteered one of the departing gentleman. Another chimed in, "Yes, it's just for fat Americans who smoke cigarettes and drink beer. They sit on their fat butts for 5 minutes and then get up and throw a ball down a lane." He made the universal bowling motion with his hand. "Then they go back, sit down and smoke some more cigarettes and drink more beer. Lazy."

Another began, "It is just taxi cab drivers and truck drivers. Fat and lazy."

Now that that is settled, how about dessert?
