The Gift That Keeps on Giving
This is entertaining. A book entitled "Giving" from a net taker.
Clinton said: "Almost everyone can give something," and doing so "makes you a happier person."Let's examine Clinton's history of giving. A few of his memorable gifts include:
1. The gift of over 140 pardons on his last day in office. This is of course in addition to numerous pardons on December 22, 2000, and before. An ancillary benefit is the gift of having Marc Rich and so many other notable citizens back in our society.
2. The gift of unburdening the White House of its excess furniture, thus saving the American people untold tax dollars in storage fees and moving expenses.
3. The gift of trashing the White House upon his departure. This is closely related to Gift No. 8.
4. The gift of giving to your illegal patrons in China through a web of fundraising and donations of defense secrets along with the gift of a list of FOB that we never knew we needed to know (see James and Mochtar Riady; John Huang; Charlie Trie; Ted Sioeng; Maria Hsia; Wang Jun among others).
5. The gift of educating our children on sex every evening for months with notable partners Monica Lewinsky, Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones.
6. The gift of educating the public on what constitutes a "reasonable return on investment" using Whitewater techniques. On this and some others, Clinton shares the donation with his lovely wife, Senator Hillary.
7. The gift of disbursing White House travel contracts to your friends and political allies (dubbed Travelgate).
8. The gift of staffing the Administration with such stewards of virtue and models of competence as Janet Reno, Madaleine Albright, Les Aspin, Mack McLarty, David Gergen, Lany Davis and so many others.
9. The gift of educating our children that it isn't a crime if you don't inhale.
10. The gift of showing our youth that avoiding service to your country is OK if you don't like what's being asked of you.
I look forward to reading the book and learning of other thoughtful gifts President Me has bestowed on the American public. It's good to be reminded occasionally that we are blessed with such virtuous and classy leadership.
