Propoganda, Chinese Style

This article is an excellent example of the central government propaganda and Chinglish available to westerners and Chinese on any given day of the week.

Death penalty handed to Zheng Xiaoyu has fully proven the will and desire of the people across China, eloquently showed the spirit of the fairness and justice of legal sanction as well as the firm resolve of the Party and the state. For corrupt officials, no matter whoever he is, what a high position he occupies and how deep he has hid himself, probes into the cases he is involved will be carried out resolutely and thoroughly, but no indulgence or soft hand will be granted to him.

Death penalty handed to Zhing Xiaoyu indicates that laws are stipulated in explicit terms, penalty is meted out in strict compliance with his crimes, and punishments commensurate with his duty.

As the principal leading official in China's drug watchdog, he was entrusted with a very great mission and responsibilities in protecting people with drug safety; he should have abided by his duty, performed his official obligation cleanly, honestly and scrupulously, and used his power for the wholehearted service of people. However, he abused the authority of his office instead to make deals between power and money and accept bribes feverishly. Furthermore, he lowered the criteria for the drug examination and approval, issued and approved the names of drugs excessively and indiscriminately, and mishandle and misconduct matters to the neglect of the interests of the state and people.
Actually he committed two cardinal sins: he embarrassed Beijing and he had no high level political friends to save his head from rolling. He could have been any government official in China plus or minus a few decimal points. They are a notoriously corrupt lot, and he is hardly an example of the worst.
